Harlem Homecoming: Skating to Lessons of Beyoncé

29th Annual Ice Show Recap

Figure Skating in Harlem’s 29th annual ice show, Harlem Homecoming: Skating to the Lessons of Beyoncé, brought together over 1,200 families, supporters, and community members for an unforgettable weekend at Riverbank State Park. Set to the music and message of Beyoncé, this year’s production reinforced a powerful message: our girls are not just participating — they are leading, creating, and redefining what’s possible on and off the ice.

Across two performances, 100% of Figure Skating in Harlem students took the ice. From first-time skaters to advanced synchronized teams, each performance reflected months of dedication, resilience, and teamwork

A Celebration of Power, Performance, and Purpose

Over 20 group performances brought the energy of Beyoncé’s most iconic hits – “Freedom,” “Love on Top,” and “Already,” – to life on the ice. Each student performing with the essence of her artistry—confidence and excellence.

One of the most moving moments of the show came during “Protector,” when a senior skater was joined on the ice by younger FSH skaters in a powerful display of mentorship and sisterhood. In that same piece, an alumna returned to skate alongside a current student, illustrating the enduring bonds and intergenerational support that define Figure Skating in Harlem.

Looking Ahead

As the final bows were taken and the crowd rose to its feet, one thing was clear: the future is bright.

From Harlem to the world, we inspire young women to carry forward the lessons learned on the ice — discipline, resilience, and self-belief — into every space they enter next.

Because at Figure Skating in Harlem, skating is just the beginning.
