award winning afterschool program
I Can Excel
is FSH’s premiere school-year program, created to strengthen academics, promote healthy and active lifestyles, and build leadership skills for girls ages 6–18. Within the afterschool model, every part of the program—Education, The Edge Life Skills & Leadership curriculum, Go-Fit conditioning, and On-Ice instruction—works together to develop strong, confident scholar-athletes.
While the structure has evolved over the years, the intention has remained the same: each component contributes to academic discipline, emotional intelligence, teamwork, and skating technique. When a student misses any single part, she misses an essential piece of her growth and the full benefit of what I Can Excel is designed to provide.
Running from October through April, the program serves students in grades 1–12, and no prior skating experience is required. Participants engage in four hours of combined skating instruction off-ice conditioning, and each week paired with three hours of education and leadership development. High school students also receive focused career and college readiness support, ensuring they are prepared for life beyond the rink.
FSH offers sliding-scale tuition, making the program accessible to families, and provides opportunities for girls to participate in competitive synchronized skating as they grow in skill, confidence, and commitment. FSH students also get the opportunity to enjoy a week dedicated to career learning, a 2-day ice show, an award ceremony, and other community events!
