What do Gayle King, Vera Wang, and Ilia Malinin have in common? They love Figure Skating in Harlem! That love was palpable as we celebrated Vlad Duthiers of CBS Mornings, FSH board member Candace Matthews and her husband Bruce, and Bloomberg Philanthropies/Erana Stennett at our Reaching for the Stars Gala. We also recognized Tenley Albright, Olympic gold medalist, surgeon, and philanthropist.
The event was such a smash that Gayle talked about our plans to build the world’s first combined education & skating facility on CBS Mornings!
Our superstar students (Disney’s Harlem Ice, seniors, and spoken word team) joined these stars and many more – Adriana Diaz, Alysa Liu, Madison Chock, Evan Bates, Jericka Duncan, Monique Coleman, to name a few – on the red carpet before enjoying inspiring speeches, dinner, and an auction hosted pro bono by Christie’s.
