Program Basics

I Can Excel is open to eligible students in grades 1-10 for new students. Students can continue the program until grade 12.
No. Previous skating experience is not required. Beginners are welcome, and students are supported according to their experience and skating level.
I Can Excel is an after-school program that can work alongside your child’s other activities. Students participate in required programming three days per week, with opportunities for additional ice time throughout the season.
I Can Excel runs during October-March. Families receive the full program calendar and their child's specific schedule before programming begins.
Academic and enrichment programming takes place in Harlem, with skating sessions held at designated rink locations.
Students participate in figure skating lessons, fitness, academic support, leadership development, mentorship, an immersive career week, and unique development experiences. All students perform at our annual ice show and can audition to perform and compete in NYC and across the Eastern Coast.

Cost & Financial Aid

Tuition is offered on a sliding scale based on household income and family size.Financial aid is available. No child is turned away due to financial limitations.
Yes. Financial assistance is available for qualifying families.
Payment options may be available to help families manage tuition throughout the season.

Application & Enrollment

No. You can complete and submit your initial application even if you do not have all supporting documents ready. Our team will follow up with next steps and any additional materials that are needed.

Students are placed according to age, with additional opportunties for syncrhonized skating teams based on skating experience and skill level so they can learn, progress, and be appropriately challenged.

Consistent attendance is important because I Can Excel is a structured, multi-day program. Families receive attendance expectations as part of the enrollment process.
Students may have opportunities to participate in additional skating, exhibitions, competitions, workshops, field trips, career experiences, college visits, and special events throughout the season.
