Vladimir Duthiers is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and a co-host of "CBS Mornings", as well as an anchor for CBS News 24/7. Since joining CBS News in 2014, he has covered major global and national stories, including the 2016 presidential election, the devastation of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, and the ongoing war in Ukraine. His reporting has also explored issues of race, culture, and social justice, providing in-depth analysis and storytelling that resonates with audiences.
Before CBS, Duthiers was a correspondent at CNN, where he was part of the team that won a Peabody Award for its coverage of the Boko Haram kidnapping of Nigerian schoolgirls in Nigeria. His work has taken him to over a dozen countries, covering political crises, natural disasters, and human rights issues. He has reported from the front lines of global conflicts, including the Israeli-Palestinian tensions and the rise of extremist groups in West Africa, bringing critical stories to international attention.
Born and raised in New York, Duthiers is of Haitian descent and fluent in French and Haitian Creole. His career path was unconventional—starting in finance at an investment firm before following his passion for journalism. He is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, and today, he continues to bring insightful, thought-provoking reporting to CBS News audiences.
