I Can Excel – Parent Info

A Premier After School Program

I Can Excel (ICE) is FSH’s premiere after-school program that improves student academics, encourages active lifestyles, and strengthens leadership skills in girls ages 6-18. At the start of every season, each girl makes a commitment to attend 9-15 hours per week of on-ice instruction and off-ice educational programming, and receives the support of more than 50 tutors, teachers, social workers, counselors and skating coaches. Students receive team warm-up suits and use of skating equipment for the season, and are expected to attend between 3 and 5 afternoons per week. All students perform in the end of season Ice Show and awards banquet. Students may audition for a spot on one of three synchronized skating teams.

"FSH increased my academic stamina, helped with my time management, and helped me stay dedicated to my academics.”

Tution Info & FAQs

Tuition for I Can Excel (ICE) is on a sliding scale from $200-575 depending on income and household size.

New York City defines a poverty level that is higher than the federal government due to the high cost of living. To determine our sliding scale brackets, we have taken the New York City poverty level and applied the same percentages that the federal government uses to determine eligibility for free and reduced-priced lunch, just using the New York city numbers.
