Digital Marketing Manager

Figure Skating in Harlem (FSH) is a thriving youth development organization – the first to combine the power of education with the grace and discipline of figure skating to help girls transform their lives and grow in confidence, leadership, and academic achievement.

Our award-winning afterschool and summer programs provide girls ages six to 18 from low-income communities with access to innovative education, health and wellness services that help them reach their fullest potential.

Headquartered in Harlem, we also have a satellite site in Detroit, serving girls in that community. We seek an energetic and experienced writer and content creator with an entrepreneurial mindset and broad experience developing and executing branded messaging and content across social media, email, and web platforms. This individual should have a contagiously positive attitude and a proven track record of creating innovative content that reaches, engages, and converts target audiences and/or raises significant funding, an excellent grasp of marketing and communication trends, and should be proficient at building online communities.

Reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, the Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing all content on Figure Skating in Harlem’s social media channels; writing, building, and executing marketing emails, and developing and updating website content. The Manager will play a major role in enhancing brand awareness within the digital space as well as driving website traffic and acquiring leads. An awareness of and enthusiasm for the figure skating community, trends and current events and ability to weave this into content is a plus.

The core functions of the Digital Marketing Manager will include:

Website & Social Media

  • Develop and execute all website and social media content to drive traffic, awareness, and support for FSH
  • Expand social media opportunities including growing the number of followers quarter-over-quarter on FSH ‘s social platforms, increasing post engagement, developing social advertising and boosting strategies, and staying current and interactive with supporters
  • Lead content creation and execute updates on the FSH website, leveraging a variety of tools and data-driven decision-making including SEO, paid advertising, and cross-channel promotion
  • Create an integrated strategy between all digital channels to bring coherence, consistency, engagement, and increased traffic
  • Manage and cultivate consultant and agency relationships, as needed for specific projects


  • Write, build, and execute FSH’s email blasts with an emphasis on donor cultivation and stewardship

Content Development and Management

  • Capture high quality photography/video and student/alumnae stories illustrating the FSH mission throughout the year, attending FSH events and programs as needed

Digital Communications Planning and Tracking

  • Develop and execute an annual digital communications plan and monthly calendar that works across all digital platforms to effectively engage target audience
  • Track FSH news and mentions across digital and print media platforms

Qualifications: Candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • A strong interest in youth development, education, girls’ empowerment, equitable community building and figure skating
  • 5+ years of professional experience in digital marketing, copywriting, design, fundraising and marketing
  • Knowledgeable and experience in developing effective design, branding, imaging for digital platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Mailchimp (or similar email marketing software), WordPress (or similar CMS tool) and social media design software (e.g., Canva)
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Strong personal presence with solid interpersonal skills
  • Innovative and critical thinker, diligent, detail-oriented, and ability to work with others
  • Contagiously positive attitude: willingness to be flexible and take on new responsibilities as needed
  • Excel at handling multiple tasks at once

This is a hybrid work role. Candidates should live in the New York City area. A four-day workweek option is available.
