The Gwendolyn Simmons' Soul on Ice Winter Skating Party is an annual community event where our skaters, their families, friends and community members enjoy a wonderful day of skating. Organized by the parents of Figure Skating in Harlem, the Winter Skating Party is an afternoon of fun for the entire family and community including food, music, raffle prizes and ice skating demonstrations of our girls. Sponsors in the past include Starbucks Coffee, Carver Federal Savings Bank, Kumon Math & Reading Centers, Affinity Health Plan, The Little Gym, and Make My Cake. 97% of parents report an improvemnt in their daughters' feelings of pride and accomplishment because of their involvement in FSH.
The FSH program has allowed Jiordan to blossom and grow in an environment that is demanding and rewarding. The exposure to the staff and dedicated instructors reinforces to her and all of the students the need to reach out and guide others in adding to and changing environments and opportunities selflessly.
