Alumna Spotlight – Raisa Lopez-RhodenEven when Raisa Lopez-Rhoden was learning her one-foot glides as a curious fourth grader just entering Figure Skating in Harlem, we knew she would go on to great things. Now a junior at Wellesley College majoring in Psychology with a minor in Economics, Raisa is currently an intern in the Global Marketing division of MAC Cosmetics. She plans to get an MBA and pursue a career in business. A member of FSH during her formative middle school years (which she called “a great experience for me”), Raisa credits our organization with helping her learn the importance of balancing academics and extra-curricular activities. “I am thankful for what FSH has done for me and am glad to see continuing dedication and support of the program,” she shared. Raisa is now the president of a volunteer organization called Bridging the Gap, which mentors high school juniors and seniors as they navigate the college application process. In addition, she was Director of Corporate Sponsors for Wellesley’s annual campus-wide fashion show hosted by women of African descent; this year, she will take on the role of General Director and oversee all aspects of the event.
