Amanda Johnson joined FSH in 2007 as a skating instructor. She has since served as Assistant Skating Director and Academic Coordinator, before taking on the role of Director of Programming in the summer of 2011. Amanda grew up skating in the Boston area, and received her BA from Drew University in Madison NJ and her MA from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Figure Skating in Harlem has helped me and my family a lot. They have given me a safe place to go after school. The counselors help me with my homework and help us get better grades. I like FSH mostly because it gives me pride in myself and its gives my mom time for herself because she works hard. FSH helped me do better in school and not get into fights. I just love everybody!
